Unique patient population, rich history

Whenever I go to places on locum tenens assignments I love to immerse myself in the culture.I have loved reading about New Mexico.The history in the area is unbelievable. Kit Carson was one of the early pioneers of Taos, New Mexico.We live about two blocks from the Kit Carson House.The town still maintains a very historic look.It’s quite an authentic looking Western town.

As we were traveling to Taos for my locum tenens assignment, we were crossing a large area of plains on the way to Las Vegas, New Mexico.We ran across a man on a horse.He looked like he was out of the 1800s.He had a long beard and an oil-skin coat; he rode on a paint pony and he was leading another pony.We stopped and talked with him and photographed him.His name is John Wayne Haynes.He was traveling on a long ride from Michigan to Santa...
