Initial Consultation

  • You will be introduced to a physician placement expert experienced in your medical specialty or our international recruiting team if you are considering international work.
  • We will ask questions and listen. An ongoing dialogue about your career and lifestyle needs will always be part of our relationship so we can act appropriately as your career and lifestyle needs evolve.
  • We will review your curriculum vitae early on so we can assess placement opportunities together.
  • We will ask you to fill out our application. It asks the necessary quality assurance and legal questions we need to review before we consider placements for you. When you are ready, this application is always available via this site in PDF format, click on our Physician Application.
  • Next, VISTA will contact your professional references. We will speak with colleagues you've worked with directly and collect written letters of reference. Be assured that we only take this step upon your approval and commitment to move forward; and with the knowledge that your colleagues are both aware and agreeable to our contact.
  • We will need you to make and send us copies of your education, training, licensing and vital documents. Our Document Checklist PDF is available on this site as well.
  • The Professional Services Placement Agreement, or contract, we ask you to sign will outline our relationship and establish the guidelines for working together. It is also the trigger that allows us to start talking about and presenting you with assignment options.
  • At this stage, we will also decide together whether to start the application process for future US licenses for you, so we can look ahead to a satisfying calendar of assignments.
  • Once this part of the process has been completed, you will meet and work with one of our specialty-specific scheduling teams. They will present you with additional and on-going assignments to consider, and coordinate all the details when you accept an assignment.
  • For each assignment our team will arrange your travel, local transportation, housing, privileges, credentials, malpractice coverage, and payroll.
  • For international assignments our team will negotiate the best possible package of benefits for you.
  • Finally, following each assignment, we will gather evaluations to use as future references for you and to help us gain a deeper understanding of the location in which you worked.

And that's it. You're working, traveling and providing great care.

We will proactively search for more job opportunities according to your future needs. We are continually thinking about and planning all of the details for you so we can provide you with your ideal work schedule.

And though the list above identifies quite a few steps, it is a simple disclosure of our process. We go out of our way to make it seamless and do as much of the work for you as possible.
