The VISTA Approach
The VISTA Approach is a time-tested way to help you through our Locum Tenens process. Here’s how it works:
- 1
Enter into a dialog
You'll be introduced to a physician recruiter experienced in your medical specialty. We'll start a dialog about your career and lifestyle needs. We will review your curriculum vitae early on so we can assess locum tenens placement opportunities together. And we'll walk you through our application and credentials review process.
- 2
Apply using our time-tested process
Our initial application and credentials verification process is extensive up-front so we are prepared to help you take advantage of all opportunities. Timing can be an important factor in getting an assignment. We make sure you are ready. We appreciate how busy doctors are so we design the process to be simple, thorough, and efficient. Review the Credentials Verification Process in detail.
- 3
Explore your options
As you complete this process we will present opportunities that match your skills and priorities. If you are interested in an opportunity, we will present your credentials to the practice or facility. You are under no obligation until you have accepted an assignment and committed to specific dates with the client.
- 4
Let us coordinate the details
We’ll take it from there and coordinate all of the details for you, including credentialing and securing privileges with the client. Our Travel Team will contact you to arrange travel to the location, housing, and local transportation. For each assignment you will receive a detailed letter including your itinerary, information about the worksite and your orientation, a local contact within the community, and more. We’ll stay in close contact to make sure everything goes well.
- 5
Get help with licensure
We will help you secure necessary state licenses for your VISTA Locum Tenens assignments. Each year we pay for and coordinate applications and renewals for more than 1000 permanent, temporary, and locum tenens licenses held by the 1000+ physicians working with us. It's a complex, time-consuming process, but we have developed the systems, relationships, and seasoned staff to do it better than just about anyone in the nation. We also provide a private licensing service for physicians who need new licenses not associated with our Locum Tenens work.
- 6
Get paid through us—reliably
Always an important consideration! You will submit work records signed by the client. VISTA pays you directly every two weeks at the rate presented when you accepted the assignment. The client bills patients and/or their insurance providers for your services and manages all receivables. Besides accurate and complete charting, you are not involved in this part of the process.
- 7
Learn about future opportunities
As your initial assignment nears completion, your scheduler will talk with you about new opportunities. Physicians very often have the option of extending a stay in a particular assignment, or scheduling repeat engagements. You control where, when, and how much you work.
