Physician Assistant Needed for Home Health Coverage, Are You Available?
VISTA is assisting a long-time client in Rhode Island with their search for Physician Assistant locums coverage. They have one opening due to retirement. There is a long-term opportunity for the right provider. This client rarely has locums needs so take advantage of this great chance to join a fantastic team!
-Dates Needed: As soon as cred completes – 07/29/2023 with possible extension
-Site: They will be home health visits, generally within a one-hour travel radius/territory(**It is about an hour's drive from the northernmost point to the southernmost, so safe to assume the entire state is within an hour's radius**)
-Reason: Short staffed
-How Many Needed: 1
-Certifications: Current Rhode Island state PA license
-Experience: One year
-License: Rhode Island
-Shifts: Monday – Friday 8:00am – 5:00pm; Participation in On-Call rotation, weekends and week nights (average 1 in every 5 to 9 days)
-Patients Per Shift: On average 4 to 6 patient homes per day, generally within a one-hour travel radius/territory, they will be scheduled in order of distance to minimize driving
-Call Required: Yes
-Patient Population: Predominately geriatric
-Credentialing: **I am waiting to hear back on timeline** This is a new Optum entity for locums, we only have history with our SEARCH team.
-Call Requirements: weekends and week nights (average 1 in every 5 to 9 days)
-Types of Procedures/Cases: Manage chronic illnesses in a complex elderly population with multimorbid conditions focused on wellness, avoiding unnecessary hospitalizations and ER visits, providing patient education about disease processes, improving overall quality of care, and increasing patient satisfaction in the healthcare system
-COVID Vaccination Requirement: Yes, no exemptions
-Training/Orientation: 4 to 8 weeks depending on experience (virtual and in-person)
