Opportunity Highlights

  • Type of Cases: 

    psychiatric consultation for patients located in a downtown Emergency Room, medical/surgical inpatient hospital floors, or the CCU. Role also includes providing clinical care to boarding patients (or those who have barriers to transfer) on involuntary holds (ITA), communicating with the King County Prosecutor's Office and Superior Court related to ITA matters, filing petitions for patients requiring further involuntary care and providing testimony. Frequent consultation questions include agitation and delirium management, safety evaluations, capacity evaluations, and other diagnostic evaluations and questions regarding psychiatric medication management often in patients with comorbid medical illness. This hospital site does not have an inpatient psychiatric unit but works with area hospitals to transfer patients requiring voluntary and involuntary psychiatric care. 

  • Credentialing: 90 days

Minimum Requirements for Consideration

  • Board Certified/ Board Eligible (SPECIALTY), Certifications: (i.e ATLS, ACLS, BLS)
  • Licensure: (i.e. Open to licensure candidates)
