Physician – Anesthesiology in North Carolina

Opportunity Highlights

  • Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8 hours per day, 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM. Overtime offered but not expected. Holiday shifts preferred.
  • Job Setting: Hospital
  • Types of Cases: General, Cardiac, Neuro, Ortho, OB, Pediatrics
  • Credentialing: Estimated privileging timeframe: 105 days. Must cross credential at Cape Fear Valley Medical, Highsmith-Rainey Specialty Hospital, and Hoke Hospital. Target start date: March 16, 2026.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the directing and coordinating of activities in the Anesthesia Department
  • Responsible for the medical management of patients who are rendered unconscious and/or insensible to pain and emotional stress during surgery and other medical procedures
  • Pre-anesthesia assessment
  • Obtain and/or verify patient consent
  • Discuss anesthetic options and risks with the patient
  • Induction, maintenance and emergence from anesthesia
  • Monitoring of the patient's physiological condition
  • Performance of clinical intervention as needed

Minimum Requirements

  • Board Certified/Board Eligible: Board Certification Required
  • Certifications: ECFMG and FLEX. Completion of approved Residency in Anesthesia.
  • Licensure: Currently licensed as a Physician (M.D./D.O.) from an accredited College of Medicine. Must hold or be able to obtain North Carolina state licensure. (Candidates needing to obtain state licensure will not be considered.)
