Physician Assistant – Cardiothoracic Surgery in California

Opportunity Highlights

  • Schedule: Monday-Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM; Guaranteed 8 hours per day with OT after 8 hours. Call rotation is 1:2 (shared 50/50 with one other PA). Weekday call: 3:00 PM – 7:00 AM the following day. Weekend call: Friday 3:00 PM – Monday 7:00 AM. Called back approximately 1-2 times per month.
  • Job Setting: Clinic within hospital. Functions include OR assist, rounding, and clinic — all performable within one day.
  • Types of Cases: OR assist; ICU/step-down patient management; radial and endoscope vein harvesting; EKG interpretation; X-ray and lab interpretation; ECMO; IABP; Impella management.
  • Patient Encounters Per Shift: 5-8
  • Start Date: September 14, 2026 – Ongoing
  • Credentialing: 60-90 days estimated

Minimum Requirements

  • Board Certified/Board Eligible: Board Certified required
  • Certifications: ACLS required; BLS required; Fellowship required
  • Licensure: Active California PA license required; Active California DEA required
  • Experience: 3-5 years highly preferred
  • Provider Type: Physician Assistant (PA) only
