Opportunity Highlights
- Schedule: Start Date: 10/1/2026, Ongoing/Indefinite. Coverage needed: 7-10 days per month, up to 14 days. Preferred schedule: TBD, but ideal would be bookend weekends with the connecting week in between.
- Job Setting: Inpatient; (Level 2 Trauma Center, Stroke Certified). EMR: Epic.
- Types of Cases: Call Only (Beeper Call). Cardiothoracic Surgery only (separate Vascular service on site). Required skills include: General CV/Thoracic Surgery (Open & Endoscopic), Coronary Artery Bypass Surgery (On-pump & Off-pump), Congenital Defect repair (ASD, VSD, PFO, etc.), Valvular Repair & Replacement, Aneurysm Repair (Cardiac & Aorto-thoracic), Lung Resection (including VATs), Chest Wall or Pleural Procedures, Esophagus and Diaphragm Surgeries, AICD, Left Ventricular Assist Devices, TAVR, CABG, Vent Management, Bronchoscopy, Eval. and Management of Acute Vol/BP Issues, Insertion of Central Line, Arterial Line, PA Catheter, and IABP. Call Ratio: 1:2. Call Response Time: 20 minutes. Phone Consults: 4-5. Patients Seen: 4-5. Admissions: 4-5. Rounding: Assigned and Unassigned Patients. Department Beds: 99. Admissions Required. Allowed Holidays: New Year's Day, Memorial Day, 4th of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day.
- Credentialing: Estimated Credentialing Timeframe: 90 days. Temporary privileges available. Malpractice insurance provided by Vendor. Nearest Airport: Duluth, MN. Lodging Recommendations: Holiday Inn Hotel and Suites, Residence Inn, Sheraton.
Minimum Requirements
- Board Certified/Board Eligible: Board Certified or Board Eligible required. Fellowship: 3 years required.
- Certifications: ACLS required; ATLS required.
- Licensure: Must be licensed in Minnesota, will consider IMLC
