Physician – Emergency Medicine in California

Opportunity Highlights

  • Schedule: Urgent shifts available in August 2026; shift times include 6a-2p, 9p-6a, and 11p-8a. Guaranteed hours: 8 per shift; overtime applies after 12 hours. 
  • Job Setting: Emergency Department, Trauma Level III
  • Types of Cases: Emergency Medicine; average of 110 patients per 24 hours. Full support services available 24 hours including Anesthesia, Cardio-Thoracic Surgery, Catheterization Lab, General Surgery, Laboratory, Neuro-Surgery, OR, Orthopedic Surgery, Radiology, and Vascular Surgery. L&D department on site; newborn deliveries are not received in the ED.
  • Credentialing: Estimated credentialing timeframe: 90 days. Fellowship required. Providers must have a clean file — no large malpractice settlements, DUIs/drug issues, restrictions, terminations, or Medical Board actions. Required documentation includes: RFA, CV, 24 months of relevant activity, completed application, and 2-3 references (including MD name, email, and phone number) available for immediate response to the medical director.

Minimum Requirements

  • Board Certified/Board Eligible: Board Certified or Board Eligible within 5 years. ABEM or ABOEM certification required. ABIM and ABFM will not be accepted.
  • Certifications: ACLS (required), BLS (required)
  • Licensure: Active California (CA) license required
