Physician – Emergency Medicine in Louisiana

Opportunity Highlights

  • Schedule: 38 physician hours coverage; 24 NPPA hours Monday-Thursday; 12 NPPA hours Friday-Sunday
  • Job Setting: Emergency Department, 22 ER beds and 12 hall beds; 576 hospital beds; 46k annual ED volume
  • Types of Cases: Emergency Medicine; must meet supervising physician requirements for NP/PA oversight
  • Credentialing: Must cross-credential 

Minimum Requirements

  • Board Certified/Board Eligible: BE/BC in Emergency Medicine (ABEM). New EM graduates accepted. If ABEM-certified and actively participating in ABEM MOC, no merit badges required.
  • Certifications: If EM Board Eligible: ACLS, ATLS, and PALS required (AHA preferred). Immunizations: Flu (within current flu season); TB (within past 12 months or chest X-ray with positive TB)
  • Licensure: Active unrestricted Louisiana Medical License; DEA License with Louisiana address; Louisiana Controlled Substance License; Supervising Physician License (for PA supervision). Must have actual state license, board certification in hand, and active DEA for the state of application and CSR (if required by state) in hand prior to presentation.
