Opportunity Highlights

  • Start Date: January 2027
  • Schedule: 14 shifts per month (minimum 7 shifts per month accepted); Schedules: 2, 2N, 3, 3N, 4, and 5
  • Job Setting: Hospital – LewisGale Hospital-Alleghany
  • Service Line: Hospitalist Medicine
  • EMR: Cerner
  • Malpractice Coverage: Required Limits: $2,750,000 / $8,250,000 (Limits increase annually in July)

Minimum Requirements

  • Education/Training: Completion of an ACGME-accredited residency in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine
  • Board Certified/Board Eligible: Board Eligible or Board Certified in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine
  • Clinical Experience: Minimum 2 years of current clinical experience; Documentation of case logs for the previous 2 years required
  • Certifications: ACLS Certification
  • Licensure: Active, unrestricted Virginia Medical License; Active DEA registration with Virginia address

Credentialing Requirements

  • Immunizations: Current Flu Vaccine administered within the current flu season/year
  • Case Logs: Documentation of case logs for the past 2 years
  • CME Requirements: Proof of completed CME/CEU credits for the previous 2 years, or CME Attestation Form included with the hospital application
  • Facility Privileges: Must be comfortable performing privileges selected on the Delineation of Privileges form
