Physician – Infectious Disease in Virginia

Are you an Internal Medicine – Infectious Disease physician searching for your next locum tenens opportunity? This position with one of VISTA's healthcare partners in Virginia might be the perfect fit for you!

Opportunity Highlights

  • Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8am – 5pm; No weekend coverage. On-call provider takes over new consults at 5pm 
  • Job Setting: Inpatient 
  • Types of Cases: Inpatient care and new consult coverage; rounding on assigned and unassigned patients; admissions required. No outpatient clinic.
  • Call: Beeper call (both); variable call response time and phone consults

Minimum Requirements

  • Board Certified/Board Eligible: Board Certified or Board Eligible required; Fellowship required (level 2)
  • Certifications: BLS required
  • Licensure: Licensed in Virginia or IMLC

Required Skills

  • Microscopic specimen evaluation
  • Management of vascular access devices/central venous catheters
  • Familiarity with intravenous medications
  • Central line placement
  • Intrathecal administration of anti-infective agents
