  • Job Setting: Inpatient 
  • Coverage Type: Scheduled Clinical Hours + Call
  • Call Type: Beeper; Call is for unassigned patients
  • EMR System: Cerner
  • Rounding: Assigned patients
  • Teaching/Resident Supervision: Required

Types of Cases / Skills

  • Nursery Level II/NICU and Level III/NICU
  • Ventilation Management – Invasive (ETT), Non-Invasive (BiPAP/CPAP), Nitric Oxide (iNO)
  • ECMO
  • Chest tube insertion
  • Exchange transfusions
  • Hemodialysis catheter placement
  • Central line, arterial line, PA catheter insertion
  • Intubation (ETT/NT) – Newborn and Pediatric
  • UVC and UAC
  • Lumbar puncture, Paracentesis, Thoracentesis
  • Needle pneumothorax decompression
  • Conscious and deep sedation
  • X-ray and EKG interpretation
  • Circumcision
  • Attend all C-sections and high-risk C-sections
  • Eval & management of acute volume/BP issues
  • Non-invasive ventilation management (neo-puff)
  • Suturing minor lacerations
  • Swallow studies

Minimum Requirements

  • Board Certified/Board Eligible: Board Certified required
  • Certifications: PALS required
  • Licensure: Must be licensed in MA only; IMLC not accepted
  • Fellowship: 2 years required
  • Credentialing: Estimated 90 days; temporary privileges available
