Physician – Obstetrics / Gynecology – Hospitalist in Iowa

Are you an Obstetrics and Gynecology physician searching for your next locum tenens opportunity? This position with one of VISTA's healthcare partners in Iowa might be the perfect fit for you!

Opportunity Highlights

  • Schedule: 10-14 day stretches; rotating call with current providers and available clinic shifts. Clinic hours: Monday-Thursday 8am-5pm, Fridays 8am-12pm. Start date: upon credentialing. Ongoing need with additional dates on a monthly basis.
  • Job Setting: Outpatient and Inpatient
  • Types of Cases: Clinic coverage and call coverage. Average of 15-20 patients per day in clinic. Approximately 30-40 deliveries per month (~238 per year). Hospital does not have a NICU; those patients are life-flighted to Iowa City or Des Moines. Provider on call will also assist in clinic during the day for urgent matters.
  • Credentialing: Estimated 30-day credentialing timeframe. Temporary privileges available.
  • EMR System: MediTech (hospital) / Athena (clinics)
  • Call Details: Beeper call; 15-minute call response time required. Call is for both inpatient and outpatient.

Minimum Requirements

  • Board Certified/Board Eligible: Board Certified required
  • Certifications: ABLS, ACLS, ATLS, BLS, PALS
  • Licensure: Active Iowa medical license or IMLC
