Physician – Obstetrics / Gynecology – Hospitalist in North Dakota

Opportunity Highlights

  • Schedule: Call Only (In-House); prefer weekdays; 3-4 24-hour shifts per month if possible; 24 hours off required between shifts; OB provider able to stay at hotel until called in; 30-minute call response time required
  • Job Setting: Inpatient; 16 labor/delivery/postpartum rooms; 1 OB dedicated OR; approximately 120 deliveries per month (~1,400/year); physicians perform approximately 65% of all deliveries
  • Types of Cases:
    • Low and high-risk pregnancy management
    • FHR interpretation (NST/CST/FSE)
    • OB Ultrasounds – Level I/Screening (viability)
    • Routine vaginal deliveries and low forceps
    • C-sections, breech deliveries, multiple births, abruptions, VBACs
    • Repair of 3rd & 4th degree lacerations
    • Office/minor gynecology (IUD, Cystoscopy, Colposcopy, cryosurgery, LEEP, etc.)
    • Surgical gynecology – open, laparoscopic (diagnostic/minor and operative/major), including ectopic pregnancy, ovary removal, cystectomy, extensive LOAs
    • Decision-making for C-section
  • EMR System: Epic (experience strongly preferred)
  • Open Shifts:
    • November: 20, 23-29
    • December: 3, 8, 14, 23-31
    • January: 1-3
  • Start Date: 11/19/2026 (ongoing through 9/1/2027, once credentialed)
  • Credentialing: Estimated 45-120 days; temporary privileges available

Minimum Requirements

  • Board Certified/Board Eligible: Board Certified or Board Eligible required (ABMS or AOA)
  • Certifications: No specific certifications required (ABLS, ACLS, ATLS, BLS, PALS – none required)
  • Licensure: Active license in North Dakota required or IMLC
