Physician – Obstetrics / Gynecology in California

Opportunity Highlights
- Schedule: 12 shifts per month; 7am-7pm or 7pm-7am (12-hour shifts); providers must be willing to work both days and nights; minimum 7-14 shifts per month required
- Job Setting: Inpatient; Hospital only; OB/Gyn Hospitalist unit with 10 labor and delivery rooms, 8 antepartum rooms, 18 postpartum rooms, and 2 dedicated ORs
- Types of Cases:
- Low and high-risk OB patient management
- Routine and complicated deliveries (vaginal, low forceps, c-section, breech, multiple births, abruptions, VBACs)
- FHR interpretation (NST/CST/FSE)
- OB ultrasounds — Level I/Screening and Level II/Targeted
- Amniocentesis
- Repair of 3rd and 4th degree lacerations
- Surgical gynecology — open, laparoscopic diagnostic/minor, and operative/major (ectopic pregnancy, ovary removal, cystectomy, extensive LOA's)
- Surgical management of spontaneous abortions and ovarian torsion
- Coverage for unassigned OB patients, patients signed out by primary OBs, and unassigned Gyn emergency department patients
- Assist private physicians with planned and unplanned C-sections
- Laborist back-up and perinatology available
- Approximately 7,280 deliveries per year
- Credentialing: Estimated 30-day credentialing timeframe; temporary privileges available; clean application required — providers with settlements, DUIs/drug issues, restrictions, terminations, or Medical Board actions are not eligible for temporary privileges; start date 9/1/2026
- EMR System: Epic
- Trauma Level: Level 2
Minimum Requirements
- Board Certified/Board Eligible: Board Certified or Board Eligible within 6 years of residency
- Certifications: ACLS, BLS
- Licensure: Active California license required; IMLC not accepted; DEA required
