Physician – Obstetrics / Gynecology in Wisconsin

Opportunity Highlights

  • Schedule: Start Date: September 4, 2026 | Ongoing engagement. Specific dates needed in 2026: Sept 4-11, Sept 25-Oct 1, Oct 16-23, Nov 16-22, Dec 4-7. Coverage includes 24-hour call every day including weekends, plus 4 hours of clinic Monday-Friday. On days when the on-site physician covers call (one day/week), the locum will cover 8 hours of clinic only with no call.
  • Job Setting: Inpatient and Outpatient
  • Types of Cases: OB/GYN including low and high-risk pregnancies, routine and complicated deliveries (vaginal, C-section, VBAC, breech, multiple births, abruptions), amniocentesis, repair of 3rd & 4th degree lacerations, surgical gynecology (open, laparoscopic, and operative/major), office/minor gynecology (IUD, cystoscopy, colposcopy, cryosurgery, LEEP), OB ultrasounds, pessaries, and annual appointments. Average of 12-20 deliveries per month (~250 per year). Clinic duties include reviewing lab results, answering inbasket questions, and serving as a resource for RNs.
  • Call Details: 24-hour beeper call (both inpatient and outpatient); call ratio 0-2 times; response time required within 30 minutes; 0-4 patients seen on call; admissions required.

Minimum Requirements

  • Board Certified/Board Eligible: Board Eligible minimum
  • Certifications: BLS required
  • Licensure: Must be licensed in Wisconsin, will consider IMLC
  • Credentialing: Estimated timeframe: 90 days; Fellowship required
  • Provider Type: Physician (MD)
  • Supervision of APPs: Not required
  • Resident/Teaching Supervision: Not required

Required Clinical Skills

  • Low risk pregnancy
  • FHR interpretation – NST/CST/FSE
  • Amniocentesis
  • Routine delivery – Vaginal and Low Forceps
  • Decision-making for C-section
  • Complicated delivery – C-section, Breech, Multiple births, Abruptions, VBACs
  • Repair of 3rd & 4th degree lacerations
  • Surgical gynecology – Open, Laparoscopic diagnostic/minor, Operative/major

Preferred Clinical Skills

  • High risk pregnancy
  • OB Ultrasounds – Level I/Screening and Level II/Targeted
  • Office/minor gynecology (IUD, Cystoscopy, Colposcopy, Cryosurgery, LEEP)
  • Laser certification
