Physician – Oncology – Medical Oncology in Minnesota

Opportunity Highlights

  • Schedule: 8-10 hour days for inpatient team; outpatient 8:00 AM-5:00 PM; overnight call from home (medical oncology-specific calls only); need ASAP start
  • Job Setting: Hospital inpatient service; outpatient coverage also available
  • Types of Cases: Malignant and benign oncology; inpatient malignant medical oncology
  • Patient Population: Adults, Geriatrics
  • Support Staff: 1 APP Monday-Friday; 1 APP on weekends to round; nurse triage service and hospitalist available
  • Role Expectations: Lead medical oncology team; supervise Advanced Practice Providers; see inpatient and all new consults; same-day documentation required for inpatient service; same-day documentation expected for outpatient service (3-day maximum)
  • EMR/Charting System: Epic (required)
  • Orientation: 8 hours
  • COVID-19 Vaccine: Not Required
  • Fingerprinting: Required; typically takes 48 hours to post; results must be posted prior to privileges being granted
  • Credentialing: Approximately 90 days

Minimum Requirements

  • Board Certified in Oncology and Hematology
  • Certifications: BLS or ACLS
  • Licensure: Minnesota License or IMLC only
  • Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience; must have experience and comfort level with inpatient malignant medical oncology patients and all ranges of hematology consults
