Physician – Pediatric Medicine in Alabama

Opportunity Highlights

  • Schedule: 9/4/2026 – 9/8/2026; Coverage is typically one weekend per month with some holidays, varying month to month. Shifts run 12:00 PM – 9:00 PM; pager call (beeper). Call response time: 30 minutes. Call ratio: 1:1.
  • Job Setting: Inpatient; Level I Nursery (no NICU). Facility performs 700-800 births per year, averaging 2 newborns per day. 6-bed department. EMR: Medhost.
  • Types of Cases: Coverage is for births only. Responsibilities include stabilization of infants requiring a higher level of care until transferred. Admissions required (occur infrequently). No ER or OR callback required. No ECMO required. Phone consults: 2-5 per shift. Patients seen per shift: 0-5. Admissions per shift: up to 5.
  • Credentialing: Estimated credentialing timeframe: 45 days. Temporary privileges available. Malpractice insurance provided by vendor.

Minimum Requirements

  • Board Certified/Board Eligible: Board Eligible minimum
  • Certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS, NRP required
  • Licensure: Active Alabama medical license, will consider IMLC
