Opportunity Highlights
- Schedule: Full-time, 7 days on / 7 days off; Shift times 8:00 AM – 6:00 PM (10-hour days, must remain on-site); Overnight beeper call 7 days on / 7 days off with very low call volume; 20-minute call response time required; ASAP start through 12/31/2027
- Job Setting: Inpatient
- Types of Cases: Comprehensive psychiatric services including inpatient mental health units (adult and adolescent ages 12+), community behavioral health programs, psychiatric emergency services, hospital-based consult liaison work supporting the Children's Hospital and PAMC medical floors, and future Crisis Stabilization Center opening Winter 2026; Follow-up to new evaluation ratio 4:1; Up to 20 patients per shift; Clinical areas include anxiety disorders, affective disorders, ADD/ADHD, personality disorders, eating disorders, psychotic disorders, and developmental/organic disorders; Admissions required
- EMR System: Epic
- Allowed Holidays: New Year's Day, Memorial Day, 4th of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day
- Credentialing: Estimated credentialing timeframe: 90 days; Temporary privileges not available; Facility will license a clean applicant (5-6 week process) or accept Letter of Qualification through the Interstate Medical Licensure Compact (IMLCC) – AK license not required at time of bid; Malpractice insurance provided by vendor; Long-term housing: please seek pre-approval
Minimum Requirements
- Board Certified/Board Eligible: Board Certified in Psychiatry required
- Certifications: BLS required; DEA required
- Licensure: Active Alaska license or IMLCC Letter of Qualification accepted at time of bid; Must be licensed in AK prior to start
- Experience: Must be experienced treating patients ages 12 and up; Fellowship required
