Physician – Radiation Oncology in Minnesota

Opportunity Highlights

  • Schedule: Monday-Friday, 7:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday are scheduled for consults, follow-ups, and simulations; Tuesday is reserved as OTV day. October 1, 2026 – January 31, 2027.
  • Job Setting: Outpatient
  • Types of Cases:
    • Inpatient and outpatient consults (~2-3 consults per day, four days per week)
    • Follow-up visits (~10-12 per week)
    • CT sim orders and CT simulations (~3-5 per day total)
    • Treatment planning (3D, IMRT, VMAT, SRS/SRT, SBRT)
    • Approximately 10-16 patients under treatment per day per MD
    • Plan approval, imaging orders and review/approval
    • Chart rounds, system peer rounds, and tumor conferences
    • No call required
  • EMR: Epic / Varian ARIA
  • Technology: Two Varian TrueBeams, Siemens Go Open Pro large bore CT scanner with respiratory gating, Identify Motion Management System, Varian Eclipse treatment planning, MIM
  • Required Skills:
    • Linear Accelerator (required)
    • Rapid Arc/VMAT (required)
    • Electrons (required)
    • Conventional/Conformal Therapy (required)
    • Intensity Modulated Radiation Therapy – IMRT (required)
    • Image Guided Radiation Therapy – IGRT (required)
    • Stereotactic Body Radiation Therapy – SBRT (required)
    • Stereotactic Radiosurgery – SRS, all types (required)
    • Conventional Treatment Planning (required)
    • Beam Shaping – MLC (required)
    • 3D CRT (required)
    • PET CT or MRI Image Fusion (required)
    • Electronic Portal Imaging – EPI (required)
    • Hyper Altered Fractionation (preferred)
    • Clinical Trials (preferred)
    • Proficiency in EPIC, Varian ARIA, and Eclipse (required)
    • Experience using Varian TrueBeam (required)
  • Credentialing: Estimated 45-120 days. Hospital/surgery center privileges required; temporary privileges not available.

Minimum Requirements

  • Board Certified/Board Eligible: Board Certified or Board Eligible required
  • Certifications: BLS required
  • Licensure: Minnesota license required; IMLC not accepted
