Physician – Surgery – General Surgery in California

Opportunity Highlights

  • Schedule: September 1, 2, 3 with ongoing need TBD (as needed/sporadic coverage); 24hr call 7a-7a; Weekend call: Yes; On-call: Yes
  • Job Setting: Hospital-based setting, 74-bed facility; Level III Trauma Center; Single ED call schedule
  • Types of Cases: 100% ED call coverage; Full General Surgery and Trauma privileges required; Endoscopy/Scopes required (GI coverage); Trauma cases including car accidents, stabbings, shootings, motorcycle, quad, swimming, and horse-related injuries (~800 traumas/year)
  • EMR: Cerner
  • Support Staff: After hours/weekends/holidays: 1 CRNA, 1 RN, 1 Scrub Tech, 1 Recovery Room Nurse (surgical assistants not provided); Normal hours: 1 CRNA, 1 RN, 1 Scrub Tech (second scrub tech may be provided based on case acuity; surgical assistants not provided)
  • Credentialing: Facility will attempt emergency credentialing for near-term dates; Provider must be actively working with full surgical privileges (not as a fill-in); Must have recent active surgery experience; Trauma experience required for Trauma privileges; No credentialing with other facilities

Minimum Requirements

  • Board Certified/Board Eligible: Board Certification required
  • Certifications: DEA required during credentialing; ATLS required during credentialing (can accept prior ATLS certification); Clean Malpractice history highly preferred
  • Licensure: California State License required; Availability at time of name clear required
