Physician – Surgery – General Surgery in New Mexico

Are you a General Surgery physician searching for your next locum tenens opportunity? This position with one of VISTA's healthcare partners in New Mexico might be the perfect fit for you!
Opportunity Highlights
- Schedule: 7-10 days per month of call coverage; call shift times are 7am-7am; beeper call with 20-30 minute response time to hospital
- Job Setting: Hospital; no clinic or hospital work; no trauma designation; small hospital with lower volume.
- Types of Cases: General Surgery (adult); laparoscopic appendectomy; GI endoscopy (upper and lower); sigmoidoscopy and colonoscopy preferred; approximately 6 patient encounters per shift
- Credentialing: 60-90 days
- Start Date: March 1, 2026 – Ongoing
Minimum Requirements
- Board Certified/Board Eligible: Board Certified or Board Eligible within 5 years of residency
- Certifications: BLS
- Licensure: NM state license and DEA required
