Opportunity Highlights
- Schedule: September 4-13, 2026 (Urgent Need); Shifts are 8a-8a (24-hour); Ongoing/additional dates may be needed in the future
- Job Setting: Inpatient; Level 1 Trauma Facility
- Types of Cases:
- General Neurosurgery (Adult) – Required
- Trauma – Required
- Tumors – Required
- Stereotactic Radiosurgery – Required
- VP Shunt – Required
- Spinal Surgery with Instrumentation (Cervical, Thoracic, Lumbar) – Required
- Spinal Surgery without Instrumentation (Cervical, Thoracic, Lumbar) – Required
- Peripheral Nerve Surgery – Required
- Placement of ICP Monitors – Required
- Application of External Traction – Required
- Cerebrovascular: Open, Endovascular – Preferred
- Carotid or Vertebral Artery Surgery – Preferred
- Aneurysm Clipping – Preferred
- Neuroendocrine Surgery – Preferred
- Skull Base Surgery – Preferred
- Functional & Seizure (Stereotactic) – Preferred
- Rounding on approximately 10-12 inpatients daily
- STAT/Trauma consults within 30 minutes; Regular consults within 24 hours (average 3-4 new patient consults per day)
- EMR: Epic
- Call Type: Beeper (24/7 Neurosurgical Trauma Coverage); Call Response Time: 30 minutes
- Credentialing: Estimated credentialing timeframe: 10 days; Temporary privileges available; Neurological Surgical Fellowship training required (Fellowship: 3); Malpractice insurance provided by vendor; Nearest airport: Pittsburgh; Lodging arranged by hospital
Minimum Requirements
- Board Certified/Board Eligible: Board Certified through the American Board of Neurological Surgery (minimum: Board Eligible)
- Certifications: Neurological Surgical Fellowship trained
- Licensure: Active Pennsylvania State License or IMLC with Letter of Completion (LOC) in hand
