Physician – Surgery – Orthopedic Trauma Surgery in Iowa

Are you an Orthopedic Trauma Surgeon searching for your next locum tenens opportunity? This position with one of VISTA's healthcare partners in Iowa might be the perfect fit for you!

Opportunity Highlights

  • Schedule: ASAP start; 7-10 shifts per month; 24-hour shifts (7a-7a); OR access every day; weekends as needed
  • Job Setting: Hospital-based, inpatient only (no clinic); two campuses – Genesis Medical Center Davenport and Silvis (13 miles apart); Trauma Level III facility
  • Types of Cases: Orthopedic trauma and same-day add-ons; any ortho traumas that come in; total joints not required; services include trauma level III cases; nursing and APP support in OR; average daily hospital census 230-250
  • On Call: Yes – inpatient only; 24-hour pager call (7a-7a); must be within 30 minutes of facility at all times when on call; on call covers both Davenport and Silvis campuses based on need; holiday on-call required

Minimum Requirements

  • Board Certified/Board Eligible: Board Certified in Orthopaedic Surgery – Required
  • Certifications: Fellowship Trained in Orthopedics – Required; Clean Malpractice/Background – Required (Self-Query NPDB pulled within the month must be uploaded at time of presentation)
  • Licensure: Active IA and IL license; OR active IA or IL license AND active IMLC; OR active IMLC
